Continuing the Japanese GT car collection is the Nissan 300ZX Twin Turbo or 'Fairlady' in some countries.
This car is special to me as it was the transport to the 2001 Le Mans 24 Hours race and much fun was had on the way, a dizzy 175mph being reached on the French Motorway!
The model was built whilst on holiday in Australia, so not all tools were available for this one, and it was my first time using hobby paint as opposed to automotive! The colour chosen was Gungze Sanyo Yellow with a white pearl over the top. The shine was achieved using the usual method but the paint gives a softer shine. It is very realistic in true light, the photos perhaps not doing it justice. I was pleased with the result and the build time was shortened due to the faster drying times.
The suspension is lowered slightly, and I changed the exhaust for two of the Fujimi items, perhaps an expensive choice when you chose to modify a twin exhaust car!!!
The interior is mid grey in colour.
I took the opportunity to photograph the model on Esplande at Altona Beach in Melbourne which supplied a superb backdrop. Beats the scenery in Northampton for sure!
